Oppertunity to make some cash

Hi there,
Dave Kilmartin for the DIT Careers office is looking for one of our students to do a small bit of work on coding up a web survey. This is a once off task with a payment of about 800 euro. In addition to the money, this would be a nice thing to have on the CV as a project.

The survey would be a bit more complex than can be handled by Survey Monkey so a HTML5 form based survey would be best. I can provide guidence on this.

If you are interested in this drop me an email. This would have to be done in the next month or so. This is suited to someone who is feeling comfortable with their programming skills.

Robert

This position has been filled.

Reminder - Springboard Reregistration

THIS MESSAGE IS FOR THE SEPTEMBER 2015 INTAKE. OTHER PEOPLE CAN IGNORE IT.

As part of the conditions of your ICT Skills / Springboard+ funding you need to confirm your participation for the second semester. If you don't do this, the HEA will not pay your fees and you will instead be liable for them. Confirming your participation in Semester 2 only takes five minutes (possibly less) and can be done right now.

Here is how it can be done
  1. Springboard participants and which are still in progress should log in to www.springboardcourses.ie using their email address and password [both required].
2.    Each participant should click on their email address which is displayed towards the top right hand side of the screen and select “Applications” from the resulting drop-down menu.

  1. The participant will see all courses to which s/he has applied in 2015. Beside the course they are currently registered on, they see an orange button/link marked “Re-register”.

  2. On clicking on this Re-register button/link, they will be asked to confirm that they remain enrolled on this course.

  3. If the student is still enrolled on and intends to complete her/his course, s/he must click ‘OK’ to confirm this intent. This completes the reregistration process and the AMS database is updated. The screen will refresh and their registration status will be changed to “Confirmed”..
Please note that the default re-registration status is NO. If a participant does not re-register through www.springboardcourses.ie, no further funding is paid on their behalf by the HEA.

Enterprise Application Development

Hi All
Just a reminder that EAD class will kick off tomorrow at 6:00 in lab 3-005 in the Annex Building.

I going to start off with an introduction to C# and Object Oriented programming.

If you have your own Laptops I would highly recommend using these as apposed to the Classroom PCs (makes life a little easier due to configuration etc..)

We will be using Visual Studio (https://www.visualstudio.com/)  for all our development work so i will also go though getting you up and running with this

Visual Studio is available for download at DreamSpark (a free Microsoft student account that give you access to free microsoft software.. Yayy!!!)

Please have a read of this document  (http://1drv.ms/1KnQkaJ)  for a walk through on how to set up a dreamspark account

See you tomorrow
