IBM Internet of Things Follow Up Questions

Hi folks,

I've had some queries about prizes and the BlueMix licences for this event on Friday.

he prizes will be one for all vouchers to the value of 50 euro plus for each of the students on the winning team for each challenge.... so with 4 winning teams of 4 to 5 students on each team, out of a relatively small number of students, there are good odds of winning a prize.

Re BlueMix licences, I have these so if you need licence access prior to taking part in the event just get in contact.

Finally it is worth keeping note that while the event is on Friday there is still plenty of time to get a team together and register.

Generation Exchange Evening - This Thursday from 6:30

Hi folks,

Just a reminder that this Thursday we are planning to hold the Generation Exchange Evening where current DT265 / DT8265 students can interact with graduates of the programme to pick their brains on the placement process among other things.

We are hoping to kick off at about 6:30 in KA G 025 where we will have a short question and answer session between current students and graduates. We (the teaching staff) will stay out of the room and leave you to talk to the graduates freely. Then at 7:00 or 7:15 we will move everyone to the canteen where some finger food and soft drinks have been arranged.

Remember this is open to both the February and September cohort, so we hope to see lots of you there. Remember that Andrea does not have class on Thursday so there is no possibility of missing a class for this.

February Cohort Dave Kilmartin CV Session

Hi folks who are currently in the second semester.

Dave Kilmartin from the DIT Careers Office has kindly offered to run a CV talk for the group thanks to the hard work by Lisa Cavern in organizing.

Finding times that suit everyone has been tough. It looks like Dave would like to go ahead with a session this Monday from 16:00 to 18:00 in KA 3-023.

I've had a look at the timetables and this seems to work for all - so fingers crossed.

Please note that this is for Semester 2 students. Dave and Leslie have been organizing a separate session for the September cohort. Leslie will have info on that.

All the best

Robert
